Hello all, I finally managed to get my website online. Took a lot of time to get ready, working closely with the designer and coder. I have added 5 tutorials currently, but i have another 11 to add.

What are your thoughts and feelings on the overall website?

thank you again and i look forward to hearing from you all!

Thank you for your review.

I forgot about the favicon, so i will need to design one now :)

I wanted a really basic design with minimal colours, so to me that is a good thing but i will take your view into consideration.

Site review

Hi. First of all, the template looks nice. The grey and blue colours look good, the banner is nice. Second, the content and portfolio is well-based.

Good luck with your site!

Overall Rating: 9/10

If you liked my review and comments, you can add rep for me.

Hey man, finally I've got the time to reply with some suggestions. From when I sold you the domain, you've done some great improvements, very proud of you.

I guess I should mention...

:gn:

Kickass:

  • Ad placement. Excellent job with your advertisement placement, great blends. More ads, the more money; but you never want to overcrowd a page. Maybe remove the top blue one?
  • Logo Rocks! Yeah! Nice logo, shame it has to be placed next to advertisements.
  • Nice menu images. I liked them, made the site seem very... professional, "know what I'm doing" in photoshop tutorials.

Downers:

  • Background image. Not a huge fan of that background-blue image. Maybe create a grad. image in replace of?
  • Font colors. Dude! No way - deep blue/purple font on a white page? I don't know, might be easier/nicer with a black, maybe even light grey.
  • Page Width. Maybe consider making it wider?

Rock it,

CWN

Thank you CWN for selling me the great domain, and for the extensive review.

I will leave the "kickass" as that seems to not need changing ;)

Downers.

* Background image. Not a huge fan of that background-blue image. Maybe create a grad. image in replace of?

I originally told the designer to make the website load as fast as possible and to keep it as basic as possible. I may try adding a gradient to see what it does to the site though.

* Font colors. Dude! No way - deep blue/purple font on a white page? I don't know, might be easier/nicer with a black, maybe even light grey.

I can see where you are coming from. I am trying to give the website a "blue feel" and the black text on the content looked abit off. I may try it out though if i can on my next tutorial submission.

* Page Width. Maybe consider making it wider?

The pagewidth is another one of my concerns. I will widern the content page width asap. If people complain etc about making it hard to read the tutorials i may think about getting the site designed abit wider nexttime.

Thank you again!

Yup - kickass is positive feedback in my book! :kickass:

Ah yeah - I certainly agree, fast page loads are very important. I'm not sure that one .GIF would reflect a huge diffrence though. :) I like the blue feel of the site, I'm just not sure everything needs to be blue. I'm glad you feel the same way about the widths!

Good luck with the site! It's bookmarked as well, will check it again!
