This is an important heads up for those who aren't aware of the ccTLD renewal rules .GG and .JE .
.GG and .JE will completely delete from your account 30 days PRIOR to renewal.
These are moderately expensive domains at $35 - $55.
The email reminder doesn't mention the domains will delete if you don't renew before the expiration date.
When you first register, your domain is under a 60 day lock leaving you 275 days to market outside your registrar. It's not 305 days because you have to renew 30 days before the initial registration.
I did renew so now I have 335 days to market the domains.
Some ccTLD's are a risky investment. Either they don't want to provide WHOIS privacy or the renewal is convoluted. I am noticing a degree of price gouging when it comes to ccTLD's.
I currently hold 12 different ccTLD's. All of them have different rules and regulations.
There is definitely a buyer beware caveat when it comes to ccTLD's.
