E-mail from iP01 offering free hosting for 1 year

Hello guys!
Perhaps I'm a lucky guy :red: because I just received an email from iP01 (www.iP01services.Net) offering me one year of free hosting!

The package seems to be quite attractive:

1200 MB of Web Space
600 POP3 E-mail or Web Mail accounts
15 Gigabytes of Traffic Monthly
20 Parked Domain Allowed
Easy-to-Use Control Panel
Password Protected Directories
FrontPage 2000/2002 extensions
Full CGI-Bin Access, PHP, Perl
MySQL Database Access
Website Access Statistics
Unlimited E-Mail Aliases / Forwarding
Unlimited Auto-responders
Unlimited 24/7 FTP

Since I'm only on free hosting companies I was wondering if anyone here knows this company- Is it reliable?
What should I do? ... :$: :$: :$:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I received a ton of mails from them or another hosting name, but always the same behind. They spam a lot. Already see complaints at another hosting forum. I don't think it's a good idea to trust spammer...

I got the same spam email, wouldnt call that getting lucky, I trashed it. I would imagin there is some type of catch to this offer but I didnt bother to check.

But they clearly say that:

"If you decide to cancel your account within the first 12 months, you do not have to pay anything!"

If I cancel my account one month before the offer expires I'm not going to have any problem, so where's the catch...? :(

Do you need to submit a credit card to qualify for the offer? If so, I'd be wary of this deal.

I'm not sure armstrong if they ask for credit card details but there is always the option of a chargeback...:)
(just in case they play dirty)

LOL Tippy! This sounds like a threat! :alien:

Please guys accept the fact that I haven't any previous experiences with paid web hosting companies. I see the whole thing as a hobby before I make any professional steps in the future.

I know that nothing is "free" and please bear in mind that I take your precautions seriously under consideration.

However I want to give it a try... What would be the worse scenario? To go to jail because I decided to accept a free web hosting offer for a WHOLE year? (You have to admit that it sounds attractive... especially if you see the hosting plan details!!!) :lala:

If you really free hosting, go with free hosting company, you could find good free plan.

And never give your credit card number to them, never, never, never...

We'll pray for you :)

David.

Problem with Hosting with Spammers

Someone mentioned about hosting with spammers, and another had asked, what is wrong with that. Well with the invent and propogation of the many Blackhole lists.. you could have entire sections of the internet that you cannot even be accessed by.. because of your relation to a spammers IP address. (they may assign you one , but it still is within their "ownership"
