I actually have a good programming experience, but funny I never built an online shopping website.

Anyway, I'm in the process of completing my first online shopping website now. I have created all the backend modules to add products, catalogs, prices, etc...

What I need to know know is how to integrate my site with PayPal payment gateway. I need users to buy through PayPal.

Thanks

The callback API for PayPal is called IPN. See the PayPal website:

https://www.paypal.com/ipn

There is a huge manual and some simple examples there.

the paypal API is very useful. I would also reccommend services such as Google Checkout. a simpler option would be just to redirect users to the paypal site, pay, and return to your site.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that Google Checkout has such features. My question is, where do payments go to with Google Checkout?? to my bank account, credit card??

That way has some security flaws in it. Just a heads up. I can place an order on MOST scripts that do this without actually paying.

Hi,

Which method did you mean? the PayPal API, or the Google Checkout?

What do you recommend?

Thank you
