Yeah, they were 'down' and now they are 'up'. Temporary is an accurate assessment.

so is dynadot a trusted registrar? i'll never want my domain registrar to go 'up' and 'down' all the time.

It's really the first time I've seen any problems with Dynadot. It's just the nature of web servers that they'll go down sometimes due to emergency maintenance, temporary hardware problems, software upgrades, etc. As long as it doesn't become a habit, it's fine. Dynadot doesn't fit the description of unreliable.

Actually this has been somewhat of a pattern compared to other registrars. But I still prefer Dynadot over Godaddy.

Eh, guess I just got lucky then whenever I needed to reg something. Though I agree with you on Dynadot vs. Godaddy. GD just drives me nuts constantly every time I go over there. My domains list shouldn't take 20 seconds just to load on a high-end computer, due to all of the images and scripts they have on that page.
