I just picked this up from a nice domain taster who let it drop a few days after regging it :)

I think it's a great domain and it makes me wish I could program, so I could make a nice tool/site kind of like JustDropped. Eventually I may hire someone to do it or if I can find a partner... But yeah, what would you guys place on the value of the domain?

Herb -

I have been pondering the same issue in the last few weeks. Due to the word "Drops" starting to become synonymous with domain dropping - how does the outlook of this keyword fair in the domainers market?

I believe very strongly. As the domain market increases in value, and becomes more and more mainstream. With larger companies getting into the mix as well as midlevel and solitary domainers, the value of dropping domain names will continue to steadily climb. If you were to look at SnapNames auctions, you would see that domains often times appear to do better here, within the freeding frenzy as oppose to a static domain auction house like Sedo or Afternic.

DropTracker.com seems like an idea domain name for listing dropping domain names, and eventually tracking price and where they went. Its easy to recall, I believe could easily be branded.

Do sales comparables exist? Looking through
NameBio.com Im not able to find any "Drop" kewords that would suggestion domain names. However I think this domain name is quality. Atleast high xx and even low xxx at this time. I would suggest holding onto this one, as domaining becomes a stronger business, this domain name will only increase in value. Solid pickup!

I would suggest developing the domain, just some simple advertising & a drop system like: AllDrops.com, maybe a few google ads..

See how it does. But undeveloped now i would say mid $xx to low $xxx.
I Could be wrong as i am not an expert on the drop market

Hey thanks DomainSpade, I appreciate the feedback. Most of my domaining is spent flipping domains, mostly because I don't have a lot to invest, so every little bit of profit helps. Occassionally I come across a nice domain that I pickup for long term purposes though and I think this is one of those. I definitely would like to develop it, but it'll probably take awhile for that to happen due to my inability to program and lack of funds :)

I agree with you on the future state of domaining though. Personally I think that Myspace guy (not Tom) who now owns Enom and is making some huge plans for domaining is going to bring alot of attention to it on a mainstream level. While I don't consider him the new savior of domaining or anything, I think he definitely has the potential to do it :)

Haha, above this box is an add for Tucows name auctions, CowDrops.com :) I definitely like my domain better than that. I wonder if they thought about the imagery that comes along with "Cow Drops"...
