Can a register (in this case Doster.com) renew and keep a domain for themselves once it is in "pending delete" phase?
I have been watching a domain that was showing on snapnames as dropping , I checked the whois yesterday on both whois.sc and allwhois.com and it showed the domain as PENDING DELETE on both sites.
This morning it was still showing as due to drop on snap later on, a couple of hours later and it was not, the whois now shows Email Search:domain(@)revenewdirect.com and the name{@}privacypost.com and still registered at dotster and expiry date 2011 and the domain is now parked for sale. WTH
Any ideas if a register can manipulate the status of a pending delete domain? - Is that even technically possible or legal ??
I thought that once it was showing pending delete it would have to drop as it was too late for anyone to renew it
?
Thanks
