Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........

Would it help if I was discouraged because I didn't make $500 last week in tv related sales? Doom doom doom for all.

Where's my scotch? Oh there it is. Hey why is the bottle so empty?

maybe if you stopped hitting the bottle, you might sell some domains

Well yeah, but then what would my local liquor store do? Sales would be down.

Keep in mind that domain names can really be equated as e-realestate.

Even if you own a land in downtown manhattan does not have any value if you do not do anything with it. You will just be paying taxes (= reg fees)

But definitely there is traffic flowing. So there is chance of getting clicks = revenue.

So to continue with the parallel, that empty lot can be develop into a parking lot. Now that is cash flow coming in.

If you really want to make money, then develop it.

Professional names has jan edged over brandable names due to its intuitiveness...

But certainly this is not a get rich quick kind of deal. For the pioneers of domaining, they are the lucky ones. But as they say, opportunity is made everyday, you just have to know when it is knoking at your door.

What is any domain worth? Whatever the market will pay... is always the safe answer. But domains have other value; I buy some domains just for the pleasure of owning the name, 'the vision'. Some folks collect baseball cards, or art for the same reasons... for pleasure AND market value considerations.

The big question is... What will the market/s do? The domain market of today will not necesscarily be the domain market of tomorrow. The U.S. numbers alone will dramatically change the domain market... with 70 million online now, growing to about 200 million in five years.

dotTV domains should do well in this new, online, mass media-tv market. And their success may come in ways yet to be discovered. Imagine, for example, future online "TV networks" built on video-embed-buys... for mass market webcasting of tv programs, movies, events, sports etc..

In this (very) possible (bandwidth distributed, iptv) market... each site "screen" represents value to the network/s & advertisers. And, in this scenario having a lot of domain names gives one a 'bigger net'... so today's "quality over quantity", "Dev" and/or "Park" (domain valuation) thinking would not apply.

I'm not saying this Will happen. And even if it does the value of the name and site would still matter. I am saying... we do know the market is going to change. While its possible the .TV market could get worse. I for one think the .TV adoption market trend will continue to rise for the forseeable future.

It might be an interesting experiment to start a thread where we investigate points against tv.

Some good points here

What I have done, first bought some nice names first, bought names to hedge my bets, believing in .tv and doing a few things. Now that the buik of my buying has eased up a lot, building up cash reserves and beginning to develope things back up. Do I reget postponing web site development? Sure I do but being self funded and a one man show a person can only do so much. I don't regret my money being put on a domain name, a .tv for that matter

Bulldog brought up some solid points smash brought up some good points and others

As I was in college being dumb and stupid and wisky and beer and a few other things lol I witnessed it all in the .com phase. I missed the boat. Now this time around I am older wiser and keeping my .tv stuff. Some sales here and there. I will regret selling ecruise.tv for 200 bucks and other names but now its development time and things go in cycles.

Blue horseshoe loves .tv lol

I am taking the hold approach on my stuff. I am not worried on .tv because I see so many positives and what some exciting ventures are up to.

The only thing I am seeing right now is the market sales are very soft and from a flippers view its scary times. Catch 22 I guess. I am holding and watching. I like what I am seeing.

Go Michigan! Nice game by them and beat Michigan state ! Big 10 rocks! Had to get my ego on football here. Sorry folks lol. Now Ohio state match up soon. I am going. Should actually sell my ticket for couple thousand and buy more .tv names lol. But can't even if its tempting too.
