Anybody pick up a .pro name with the promotion?
I'm taking a chance on two;
Portfolio.pro
and
Data.pro
Might just keep Portfolio.pro...

I might reg 2 or 3, but still haven't settled on which ones. At these prices, its risky to reg a lot if you can't develop it yourself.

Earlier today I tried to reg "name.pro" and some others (which at the time showed as 'available'; they have corrected it now) and even though it seemed like the order went through fine, I got emails from EnCirca a short while later telling me that those names weren't reg'd successfully because of having been reserved by the registry. And they'd issued me a credit for the 'failed names' back to my c.card.selfmindead said:how cool would it be to get www.name.pro :D
Armstrong, exactly, you took the words right out of my mouth.armstrong said:Encirca appears able to do something about the first two, so all of a sudden .pro becomes a viable TLD for widespread development.
They did do away with that, yes.AdoptableDomains said:I thought you had to prove you were a "professional" such as a lawyer, dr., or cpa.
did they do away with that?
Doesn't that contradict Dillpup? The statement that without the additional $50 you can't forward or use it in any way. Thus it's still a $100 p/y domain and they have only opened it up to "Non-Pros".armstrong said:Encirca appears able to do something about the first two, so all of a sudden .pro becomes a viable TLD for widespread development.
Does anybody have a link, or something that confirms that information?westblock said:The statement that without the additional $50 you can't forward or use it in any way.
EnCirca's ProForwarding service allows you to use a second level .pro domain for email and website hosting just as you would with a .com domain name. Included with the service is "cloaked" web forwarding to any web address you provide. You may also just park the domain with EnCirca.

Now, at $50 per registration, that's the same price of .SC
You can't help but to be tempted.![]()
