Not sure how, but PokerRoom.Online and PokerRooms.Online slipped through preregistrations and they're not even premium (amazingly), so I nabbed 'em!

Given that poker rooms are originally an "offline" concept and because most poker sites are essentially "rooms" and they call themselves that, I think I made out with a couple of nice ones.

What .Online domains did you get?

Why do you register names like jeddah or dammam ? There is no tourism to Saudi Arabia. I don't get it.

There are many expats in Jeddah and jeddah is booming economically, Dammam is not really..but possible... it is oil hub

This is where I think all the mistakes are made. This mentality of an "ALTERNATIVE" to .COM as opposed to supplementing .com/the internet as a whole.

.COM is not going to go anywhere. It is already transfixed as the main extension in the human psyche. ALL of the new TLDs are being created to supplement the internet experience and promote a wider, more vast array of sites/information.

There is Billions (with a B) of dollars and Millions of many hours behind .COM and the infrastructure that supports .COM. To think that any one singular extension will be about to subvert that is pure hubris.

At best, any extension can hope to be the most widely utilized extension in the coming years as this movement progresses. All of the extension (new and old) will be part of the movement. None of them will be going anywhere as they will all be part of the digital consciousness.

Just some food for thought.

haha, you win the comedian of the year award. It has only been out less than 4 weeks. Just check out namestats, do not dribble meaningless garbage as that makes no sense.

It is an "alternative" to people stuck with a 3rd, 4th, 5th class .com domain name. I do not think anyone has ever said that .com is going anywhere. Maybe value is rapidly decreasing on non-prime names, but still not going anywhere.

1 and 1 had the cheapest price for $9.99 and i think they still do for your 1st purchase but they have increased the price to 14.99 now for repeat purchasers.

Well I wasn't hired by Radix to astroturt this thread to convince newbies that .online is the best thing since sliced bread.
I want to help them not to lose too much $$ (I wish I didn't get sucked into the hype - but only got 4 so it's not that bad)

I'm not saying people will never sell anything but with $30+ renewals most will be dropping their names next year (yeah, that includes me)
Every time they register a name they should ask themselves - it's highly unlikely I will be able to sell it for big profit, am I OK with losing this money, could I perhaps register something else (in com/net/org/info... heck even .io is doing better)
I would love to be proven wrong (and sell my names for $$$$ )

And just to be clear - this is my opinion about all of the new extensions not just .online.
I even got tired waiting for .web.
I think many already have nTLD fatigue...

Also avoid 1&1 - Namecheap have them cheaper: $7.88 (I wonder why are they lowering the prices if online is doing so great )

I am sorry if you cannot afford the $30 renewal fee. That is just a packet of cigarettes to me. Just stick to your $1 xyz names.

So, how much experience have you had with 1 and 1? I have been using them for years and never had any troubles, both purchasing names and hosting my websites. I did see that namecheap put the price down to $7.88 which is the cheapest available today. Good on them.

No gTLD is doing better than .online after 4 weeks.

Nope, no .xyz for me - I had one .xyz (bought it just for sh**s and giggles) sold it for $200 to an end user a few days after Godaddy announcement.
I was quite excited and registered a few more (since they were only $1) but any good names are already taken so I'm not wasting my $ anymore.

I was wrong - I said there are no sales in .online extension but actually there are a few at flippa right now:

These two domains you listed above were just purchased for registration fee.

mybet.online is not exactly a premium name.

Do you expect to make a profit in the first 4 weeks or the first 12 months? I certainly do not. I do not expect to make a profit in the first 3 years, You need patients in this new TLD game.

I personally ask myself one simple question before buying a domain.

What is the cost to hold it for 5 years? With .online, if the prices do not change, it will be around 150 dollars.
If i believe the domain will be worth more than 150 dollars in 5 years or 300 dollars in 10 years, I might buy it. Simple!

Some domains you will be able to flip for a profit before that and some people will also get lucky and get a huge return. Those who put in the work to try and find an end user will have the best chance of course.

But complaining about how many sales so far, how many websites built, what about the history ect... is just ridiculous at this stage. It has only been 4 weeks and it does not matter how you look at it, .online is off to a very nice start.

IMO, if you are not prepared to hold for a few years or not prepared to put in a lot of work trying to find an end user, do not buy any extension. Also, if it has more than 2 words, does not make sense and they are not key words, do not buy it.

And even the mediocre are gone now....

You can have a thousand different words in front or before the word bet.

More than 70 percent of the ones that i registered are one word sensible names. As i said a couple of weeks ago, i have a standing 1K private offer for one of my .online names from a end-user. I will not sell it for that as i think it will be worth more in 5 years and 1K will not change my life one single bit.

Everyone has a different strategy i guess. Mine is just long term. Others expect quick cash and if that does not work in the first few weeks, its a disaster. Some folks register names for 10 bucks and list them for 1 million the next day on flippa like creditscore.online.

Maybe that is their strategy and good luck to them.
