Can't speak for Anybody but myself,. but we have seen sales in the .online domains, and I personally have sold one for $600+
There is a sale on now for registrations of .onlines, and it's too cheap too pass up in my opinion. If I register 100 for $1 each, and sell only one for $500, it's well worth it.
I personally like the .online domain extension better than .ninja,.rocks,.xyz,it just sounds better to me and reads better in my opinion.
I'd rather spend a few hundred dollars and be wrong about the extension, then not buy any and be right about it.
Will .online ever be like .com? Probably not, but can it be a good addition, and more affordable option for businesses & people that want to have a website? I believe so.
Example:
Two domains I grabbed today, BASSFISHING dot online & FOOTBALLCARDS dot online
If a person wants to have a blog or site discussing these popular topics, how great would it be to have a domain that matches what they are discussing? Especially since i have these set at minimum offer prices of $399. Very affordable options I think
Same thing goes for Businesses. The Dot Online domain I sold was ELECTRICAL SUPPLIES. A company that is a major supplier of electrical supplies bought this to likely re-direct additional traffic to their existing site. How great a bargain is this for them? People type in 'ELECTRICAL SUPPLIES' to find them, and this is a domain that is an exact match to what people are searching. There could be some great SEO benefits for businesses & sites
