So as you do when you are a domainer you look at the Lamborghini website.
I see at the bottom of page url
LIVE.LAMBORGHINI
so I click on it and sure enough diverts to lamborghini.com/en-en/live
Did lamborghini just buy their own extension?

So it's another corporate end user that bought its own TLD because they 'had to' or were advised to, but have no plans for it and redirect to their .com ? Lame.

live.lamborghini is so lame compared to lamborghini.com

It is longer.
It does not look like an URL
It does not add or enhance the brand message
it is harder to remember

As it is but lets say they offer domains to their dealers
florida.lamborghini might do well for them.

no it has nothing to do with this. live+lamborghini is simply a crappy combo... A brand is much better when not combined with another word in most cases.

Examples:

Pepsi vs DrinkPepsi
Nestle vs EatNestle
Google vs GoogleSearch

etc.. The second word does not add any value and dilutes the brand. It also adds further confusion because now you have to remember 2 words instead of 1.

.brand is dead because of this.
