I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

I agree. The research @DomainRecap puts in prior to and after the TBR runs is quite valuable. I'd pay a little something to make it a little more exclusive

To Be Released (TBR) .CA Results & Leftovers for February 26, 2020

The TBR list jumped to 8,999 expired domains, but the premium quality was not there, and we didn't even have a 2-character or high-end 3-letter to count on. Even so, the Top 10 Picks included some notable domain selections that included...

Lotsa Names to Hand-Reg!

Maybe send the Hotlist to people who subscribe the night before and post the leftovers for all after the drop.

I'd have no problem with that, assuming the subscription plan was viable and people actually wanted to pay a little bit for the privilege, just to make up for any potential losses in ads/readership/affiliate sales/etc.

If there is a way to make this a feasible path to go, I have no problem doing it. Let me know your ideas on what kind of semi-annual/annual fee would be doable? I don't see any use in any lower duration than that, otherwise it's a clerical nightmare.

Personally, I think you should charge an annual fee for access to your research!

Agreed, and maybe semi-annual at the lowest.

Just spit-balling here but free for me and say, $99/year for everyone else

I have a feeling that's going to be the most common answer.

"Let those other jerks pay for it!"

I would say $50 for 6 months

You may want to try it on a 3 month basis to see if it is feasible for you to make it a regular service.
It would be tough to stop if it wasnโ€™t as viable as what you do now after people have already paid...just a thought

To even start something like that, I'd have to have a group of people already pre-signed up and then do at least 6 months. Probably 10-20 people signed up and then I'd go for 6 months and see how it works.

And on the topic of personal use, now that Gmail charges for email accounts utilizing private domain names, are there any really good IMAP based free or cheap options out there that anyone has found and like?

I should have started this as a separate comment so it didn't get overlooked.

Can anyone recommend decent Email services that works with your own domain? Preferably cheap/free for a basic account with the option to upgrade for a fee? Thx!

Picked a few up today... One of the bigger ones that didnt seem to get noticed was T4e.ca ... Although it doesnt look like much, but its a tax form in Canada (if you didnt already know that). Should have some merit.

Count me in, if it's about $50 for 6 months.

I saw it, but unfortunately I don't have any good suggestions. I pay for email service and/or use my own server(s).

Me too. I think this is a fair price and long enough for everyone, including @DomainRecap , to test drive the value and level of effort

Anyone want to start a running subscription sign-up list in here (adding new names and reposting with each new member), as I think me running it wouldn't be right.

I'm just a bystander at this point bowing to the unruly mob. :xf.grin:

:xf.eek::xf.grin:

Just to clarify...Would it be similar to what I suggested..
Subscribers get the list the night before and the leftovers would be posted for all after the TBR?
Or did you have something different in mind?

Not trying to complicate you life @DomainRecap ....someone suggested it and some of us are interested. Donโ€™t want you to feel pressured here.
We all appreciate your contributions as they are now for sure(y)
