That is, don't buy or sell on your own. We are testing a paid service where we can help you figure out the best way to buy a domain when you find one, or deal with a buyer if you get an offer.
We can't appraise domains, and we aren't brokers, although we an act as one if you really want us to. What we mainly provide is some support and analysis that can help you get the best possible deal either as a buyer or as a seller.
We don't know everything and frankly we have not sold a lot of domains for big bucks, but as this posting shows, we can apply logic and our 57 years of experience to get as much information as possible and that will help you get a better price or at least avoid being taken advantage of.
Rates for our service depend on how much help you need (our time) and the final selling price of the domain. If we can get you a better price by $100, then we'd like to get $20 for helping you as long as it doesn't take 2 hours of email, IM, and phone calls to get the deal closed. If a lot of time is needed then we would need to charge you for our time, and that may be worth it if you learn how to figure things out for yourself.
I will give some new clients some initial advice for free, so please contact me with your domain and the deal you are trying to make. Then you can decide if you want my help.
