I've got my gimpshop.com domain with domainsite, and I use them to forward to my subdomain on a different server, gimpshop.suckstobe.us. I've not been able to resolve my domain for over almost an entire day now, *just* when it starts to get more and more hits, of course.

Anyone know why this would be happening? My hosting is working fine, as you can see: it's the forwarding from gimpshop.com (as well as the resolution of an address at all, as ping www.gimpshop.com comes up with nothing) that isn't working.

Ideas? TIA.

My names at domainsite.com seem to be working fine, and their site loads fine for me as well. You didn't get the cheapest ($6.99 per year) registration, did you? If so, forwarding isn't included in it.

No, I got the other one. I've been forwarding this site for about three or four months now, and suddenly yesterday it stopped working. Of course, no one answers when I call, and I've still not received a message in response to my email.

I'm pretty sure I'm having big problems with DomainSite's URL forwarding..NONE of my domains on DomainSite nameservers are forwarding to my DomainSponsor parked pages.This is a huge problem for me,I'm missing out on alot of money. :td:

My domains using my own nameservers with them are working It could just be a problem with their DNS

I just recieved an email back from DomainSite support (in less than an hour),here it is:

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We are currently experiencing an issue that is effecting all customers using our URL forwarding and Custom Parking page. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA for the resolution of this issue, although our technical department is currently working on it.

Dillpup, thank you *very* much for posting that. At least they know it's a problem, and hopefully they'll fix it soon. This is really losing me money and traffic. :(

I wonder why they didn't respond to my email, though.. kinda odd.

Go to your own DNS and this solves the problem

It doesn't solve this problem at all if I go to my own DNS. It pushes *this* problem away from me while others are still being afflicted by it. The only way to solve the problem is for them to fix their servers and give me and the others what we've paid for.

Well, I don't wanna talk about principles of business in this thread (that's not why I made it), but we can talk via PM more if you'd like. Just to show you how I feel about your comment, though:

It's not free DNS, and that's the point. I paid extra money, above the 6.99 cheapest fee, for extra features. Therefore, I am entitled to these features, and can expect they be in working order for at least a very very great majority of the time, which currently is not the case.

I won't be surprised if what's happening to domainsite is the same thing that
affected enom's and netsol's respective forwarding services.

Yep, I called today and it's a DDoS happening to their nameservers.

Luckily, there are some very nice people on this forum, and the forum member infinitomagazine has graciously offered to host me while this happens. Everyone should thank him along with me for him being so nice!
