OK. Just for fun. I thought I'd checkout my surname with the double first letter. It's a reasonably popular name used by many businesses. All the popular suffixes are taken, such as co, inc, ltd etc. In addition to the branding possibilities. it could also represent quite a few first names. I was pleasantly suprised it was available. So I thought I'd go through the whole alphabet. More than half of xSurname were taken. Obviously QVXYZ type letters were available. I also noticed that HugeDomains had about 4 of these registratrations. Most of the registrations had been taken for a long time. 13 years, including my own firstname initial, came up a lot.. So I am now the proud owner of a double letter brandable starting with BB.

From my experience, people like strong short keywords, used with the same meaning, like 'payy', 'wordd', 'agenccy', 'defensse' and also there is BB style, better then average keywords, used in other areas than the original and make a brand out of it like 'factorry' for marketing or recruitment agency, 'empirre' for casino or investment related industries. I don't think that all keywords can be valuable using double letters, but some will bring some good ROI. A year or so before they were available to hand reg, but after that, BB and BR started selling them and they are hard to find them available anymore. Comparing marketplaces, afternic it's the best in my case and godaddy the worst for selling double letter brandbles, but through private email I doing more than 50% of the deals. For some reason, I never had to much luck with godaddy.
