I submitted my domain 'BeckhamPosh.com' to be included in a showcase on the Sedo homepage, but they rejected it on the grounds that it could be a trademark infringement. I can understand that they want to protect their position just in case there is a TM issue. What do you think, would there be a TM problem with this domain? The domain is for sale and I have no plans to develop, but if there would be potential TM issues I may as well just drop it!! (unless someone here would like to buy it - any offers considered).

So I chose an alternative domain to put in the showcase, 'NegroOnline.com', but they then rejected this one on the basis that it may cause offence. I didn't think the name was offensive (if anyone is offended then I apologise and it is not intentional). Does anyone find this offensive, or is it just political correctness gone mad? Again, I may have to just drop this name (unless someone wants it).

In the end I chose another domain for the showcase and it is accepted.

Cheers.

Well, the TM one was rejected rightfully so. And the other, well honestly, yes, it's offensive.

Personally I don't think either were really premium but they sometimes have strange criteria...

These are not premium domains.

D-: How and Why, would you 'even' consider either one a 'Premium' Name??? I'm surprised they even answered you.

I didn't say they were premium names. They were to be listed in the 'Featured Domains' section (for non-premiums), not the 'Top Domains' section (for premiums). Sorry for not making this clearer.

Thanks for the replies, I'm gonna drop both names. Should have thought a bit more when registering the second one, never thought at the time it would be offensive, and many apologies to anyone who thought it was.

Regards.

Syrup,

You can keep BeckhamPosh.com, but really really drop the other one. Its extremely racist, using a term that has been out of circulation for over 50 years. I am very surprised at your question about its political incorrectness, since you happen to be from England. Surely you must know the implications of that particular term?

If you ever happen to utter that word on TV in the US, they would castrate you.

And I mean really castrate you...

Thanks for the reply. I guess the fact that Sedo initially allowed it to be listed for sale and also ok'd it for parking made me think that perhaps it was acceptable. Didn't fully think it through, and feel bad that I've been so naive about this. Its gonna go tonight.
