There are a few places that send out domain "renewal" notices, but the only way you can "renew" your domain is at the current registrar. Anything else can only be called a "transfer".

Emails like the one below are misleading at best, and IMO are deceptive at the worst since you not only agree to transfer your domain, you also pay many times (EUR59.95) the normal renewal fee to do so. I am posting here and on our blog network so no one is fooled by these messages.
