There are literally tons of domaining software out there and as a relatively new domainer I'm not sure which one a) is the best and b) is worth the money.

Do you guys use software?
Which one is the best?

Thanks

Unless you managing a ton of domains, I wouldn't even bother looking into it. Just make an excel spreadsheet with your domains and info.

That is what I have, with just about 30 so far, I would not even think about any software until I was way over 100.

We are in the process of building something that we think might be very helpful for domainers - stay tuned as we move this to beta - we'll be asking DNOA.org members to beta test with us - what's DNOA.org? - go look -

It probably depends what you mean by domaining software. There is portfolio management, name lookup, name suggestion, parking, domain tracking, etc. Some of these are web based software services, others are PC based or scripts for personal websites. Almost anything for domaining can be done with web based applications which seem to keep updated better.

For hosted applications, I find domaintools.com one of my most used tools. I also like fabulous.com's portfolio management.

I don't use much in the way of PC based applications.

Just use a spreadsheet myself.
works great for me, and the hugecustomization possibilities i have are great, for example, i colour the domains cell depending on it's development status, revenue and traffic status and stuff, kinda fun :p..yet sad

If you like to scan huge lists of domains for availability, and many other parameters,
I would recommend one of these three - they are simply best of all I have seen (and I have seen all existing commercial domain lookup software). These progies also have a lot of additional functions.
