Hello!

Can you guys give some suggestion on what to do with a domain I bought recently on TDNAM?

The domain looked very tempting: a lll.cc with alexa ranking and apparently high traffic. So, I bought and parked it at sedo.

Indeed the domain had high traffic but very low CTR. Soon, I realized that something was wrong with that domain.

Made some research (something that I should have done before buying) and found the most provable reason: The domain was associated to some kind of browser hijacker thas directed the visitors to xxx related sites.

Since the traffic seems almost pretty useless(?) should i keep the domain having in consideration it's name or even that is worthless?

Thanks!

Well i guess if you bought it solely for revenue you should probably give it up although perhaps it has resale value for the name alone. Hard to say without seeing it.

Although bear in mind that LLL's tend to have very poor CTR anyway. can you alter the content to match the visitors? Does SEDO give you what people search for in the search box (like ND do?).

can you explain this browser hijaclker thing? How is that giving you traffic - I don't understand.

If I understand what you're referring to as a "browser hijacker", the domain was used for nefarious purposes by a previous owner before you picked it up. And the people that are landing on your domain are being unexpectingly sent there because some sort of virus or adware installed on their computer is changing their browser settings to redirect to your domain. Of course the traffic doesn't convert well, because people don't know why they're seeing your page and most of them will just close it. You're only going to get a few clicks from scared newbies who click a link on the page in surprise.

If I had a domain like that, I think the best and most upstanding thing to do would be to take it off parking, do a little more research, and set up a clean, simple information page with a few links how to get rid of the "browser hijacker" that's sending them to your domain. Then feel free to introduce yourself and your businesses/websites. Explain that you registered the domain for your own use (without knowing what was happening) and your good intentions to help people that are inadvertantly landing on your domain.

The goodwill that you'll earn your business and the domaining industry as a whole will be worth much more than the change you'll get from parking the domain. :)

Feel free to PM with the domain if you want me to give you a little more help.

you need to get the privacy protection on the domain, the victims of the previous harm will hunt you.

Have you tried using keywords such as "spyware", "spyware remover".. etc..?
You could also create a minisite with anti-spyware affiliate links, and advice on removing hijackers.

create a page with a question: What are you looking for ? then create a page in relation with what the people said ... simple and efficient !
