Hi guys, I have a name registered with a European registrar. I registered it when I was living in Europe taking advantage of an offer for EU citizens. I registered it using my European address.
I want to transfer this domain to Dynadot, but the home address I have there is in the UK.
Does it matter if the home address is different during a transfer? I read somewhere that only name / surname and email matter.

Shouldnt matter imo
Grab auth code and go
Make sure dynadot info is correct.

What do you mean correct? the only difference is my home address and phone, everything else is the same.

Then your fine. Same as selling it to me, info would be different from losing registrar to gaining one

Do registrars even get access to the account info of other registrars during transfers? Sure, whois, but that's usually private anyway. I mean private account info? Seems like it would be a major invasion of privacy.

What extension is it? I think to hold a .eu domain in the UK you have to be a EU citizen residing in the UK.
Some registrars do non-resident registrations and will reg it on your behalf with their regional contact details, not sure about Dynadot.

since your case is different than the regular domainer you might have to show some proof of residence other than that it should be fine.

It's a COM.
I think I read somewhere that If I change my contact details, there will be a 60 day lock. Is it true?

You must be able to receive your Auth-Code to transfer your domain. You will use this code to confirm ownership with the new registrar.

Your domain contact information can be accessed on the left.
It is mandatory that you have access to the Administrative email address in order for a successful transfer. You can view and edit your email address to each tab individually or all at once, depending on which tab you have selected.

How to transfer your domain to another registrar

  1. Log in to your Domains Dashboard.
  2. On the dashboard, select the domain name you wish to transfer.
There are two views in the Domains dashboard - the Card and List views. Click on the view icons to switch to your preferred view. Basically, I also want to migrate my site best payroll software Kolkata from HTML to PHP, but also unable to do that.
  3. Choose the domain that you want to transfer.
In the Card view, click the domain's Managebutton.

In List view, click the domain or its gear icon on the right-hand side.

  4. Click on Transfersin the left-hand menu.
Make sure that the Transfer Requirements are met, showing green. Again, please double-check your email address if it is correct before clicking the 'Email Auth-Code'button.

  5. Note: For the visually impaired: If you see this message below the button, all requirements have not been met.

  6. Click the Email Auth-Code button, and you will see a brief confirmation message.
  7. Once Auth-Code has been received, you can start transferring your domain to your new registrar by putting the Auth-Code to your new account with them or simply communicating with their Support Specialist.

Pro Tip: Once in a while, a legitimate email goes to your spam folder instead of your inbox. We recommend you check your spam folder if the Auth-Code has been sent there by mistake.

Hope this tip will help you properly.

Yes, a 60 day lock is applied after a transfer (or just a change of contact details sometimes, even if you were to keep the name at the existing registrar). Once transferred you can still use the name during this time, you just won't be able to transfer it again until the lock is off.

Best to read here: How do I transfer my domain to Dynadot?

If it's a .com there's nothing to worry at all.. just like selling to someone else

There shouldn't be any problem. However it's better to confirm with the registrar.

Then you are OK. No problem at all. It's only .EU which would have been a problem. Because you need to be residing in EEC. Technically UK is now outside EEC.

If you are transferring the domain to a new registrar, just make sure it is unlocked at old one, get the Authentication code and transfer it from the other registrar. You are overthinking it. =)
