I sold a domain on Sedo awhile back for mid XXX. I still have not received a transfer request from the buyer. Have you ever had this problem? I know the buyer is new to the domain industry as they emailed me before the sale and said as much. Frustrating as I would like to get the transfer done. They have paid for the domain and Sedo has the funds. I have emailed the buyer telling them they need to purchase a transfer at their registrar or open an account at HOSTNHUB so I can push the domain to them. Not sure what else I can do to get this transfer completed.

I would contact Sedo and see if you can release the domain to them, so that they can release the funds to you, I've done that before where the buyer was not responding, yet had already paid!.

Hmmm, imho thats wrong. You dont have to talk / mail with buyer or push / transfer him domain.
Sedo take money and domain ... then you receive money and THEY should handle/ help buyer with domain transfer/push !

I have not heard back from Sedo yet when I asked if they could take the domain. The last message I received they stated they have asked the buyer if they have started the transfer. They said I would be getting an email asking for release.

Nothing yet. I have already transferred some other domains so I know about the authorization number (which they already have) code and verification code. I transferred some domains I had from yahoo to HOSTNHUB before. Also from a different registry to Hostnhub. One I had done in a matter of hours. When you accept right away at the registrar it goes fast or else after 5 days the transfer is automatic unless you dispute it. I'll wait to hear back from Sedo on my domain sale there.

I'd say not to worry too much at the moment because they may be reviewing the transaction, but if nothing else works I would contact Sedo and take it from there. If they can't deal with it then you're in trouble.

That's odd, because whenever I make a sale at Sedo, it's them that takes control of the domain, I never deal with the actual buyer other than through the negotiation process.

Sedo has accounts at the registrars that I use, and they give me their push information after they receive the funds from the buyer. Sedo then transfers the domain to the buyer themselves.

Sale was back near the first of the month. Payment received on march 15. These are the exact replies from sedo.

March 22: Start of the transfer to the new registrar

We have asked the buyer to start the transfer of the domain at his registrar.

You will shortly receive a corresponding transfer request at your registered admin-c e-mail address. Please confirm that request.

The domain will then be transferred to the new registrar. Please note that this process may take up to 7 days to be processed, depending on the losing an gaining registrars.
Kindly notify us when you have received and confirmed the transfer request.

As soon as the transfer has been completed, we will send payment to you.

March 23: We've asked the buyer if the transfer has been started.

The domain transfer is not yet complete, we have sent an e-mail to the buyer to inquire if he has initiated it from his registrar.

Sedo has been paid and have my money. I requested they take the domain. I have had no transfer request from a new registrar and no reply from Sedo after I asked them if they could take the domain.

Update: Good news. Sedo created an account at HOSTNHUB and had me push the domain to them.

Transfer should be complete with-in the hour. :tu:

This happened to me at TDNAM a few months ago, buyer paid but would not transfer or respond to any of my many emails. Even called GD a couple of times and they were no help. After 30 days GoDaddy paid me and months later I still have the domain...very strange.

Final update: Domain has been transferred to Sedo and the funds are in my paypal account.

Thank you to mosilager once again for the suggestion to ask Sedo to take the domain. They opened an account at HOSTNHUB and did just that.

Bullionbull.com $560.00 US I would have liked more but the domain was only 4 months old.

It's not as rare as we believe, unfortunately. And usually the solution depends by the sedo agent: some are open-minded and allow this kind of things (like the globegenius's one), others are more conservative, and tend to wait and wait and wait until the buyer does something.
