Two days later, I'll try the same domains as I tested in my previous post, to compare the valuation ranges then and now:
Middl (dotcom):
2 days ago: $5K - 50K range
Today: 3K - 10K range
Then I tried it again right away: it gave $10K - 25K range...
Then again: 10K - 30K
Then again: 5K - 10K
PetFuel (dotcom):
2 days ago: 5K - 10K range
Today: 3K - 10K range
Then I tried it again right away: 10K - 75K range... Yowzah!
Then again: 10K - 25K
OutTheMud (dotcom):
2 days ago: 500 - 2K range
Today: 1K - 3K
Tried it again: 2K - 5K
And again: 500 - 1.5K
Not bad; this level of fluctuation I can live with, they're all pretty close
Envolver (dotcom):
2 days ago: 10K - 25K
Today: 5K - 25K
Again: 10K - 50K
Watergy (dotcom):
2 days ago: 15K - 25K
Today: 5K - 15K
Again: 5K - 25K
These are just way, way too randomly fluctuating valuation ranges.
If it said one time, say, 5K - 10K, then another time 4K - 8K, then another time 6K - 9K, then as long as they're relatively close each time, I'd be okay with that fluctuation. But to have valuations with huge fluctuations like the above... there's no 'central valuation range' for anyone to really hold on to.
As mentioned, I don't put any store into auto-valuations. My least favorite is bots that give an exact price, like '$2,675' etc. I prefer valuation ranges, because they give the buyer and seller some room to negotiate and feel good about a medial price range.
But those price ranges need to have some central orbit that feels stable. Some price range that, even if we don't really count on it as a definitive price range, at least we can see that some metrics are being followed and price ranges seem to be generated 'for a reason'.
With the above huge fluctuations... it just doesn't appear that any stable metrics are being applied, or valuation reasoning applied. It's like the AI bot doesn't know what to do from one valuation to the next.
So the valuation part of your bot has lost me completely. Unless you can figure out how to apply a bit
more stability to the price ranges when repeatedly applied to the same domain.
The other parts are still interesting to me, though. AI can definitely mine some uses for some domains that I hadn't previously thought about. I can buy my domains for a clear reason, some obvious end users to approach... and I can also think outside the box for some more unusual uses... but AI can go wider, deeper, and faster than my own brain + Goog searches can, and AI occasionally pops up with some interesting use I hadn't thought of.
So far, I'd pop my domains into your bot for that reason, to see if it comes up with any ideas I hadn't thought of for my domain. But the hugely fluctuating valuation ranges have lost me for that part of it.
Still... I'd be happy if you kept working at developing this. Widen out the domain usage suggestion feature part of it (you know, what kinds of industry, companies would be interested in the domain), and maybe find a way to reign in the valuation range variables so they aren't so random and all over the map...
Good work so far. Needs more woodshedding
