Hi

read thru ALL the domains for sale threads going back 10 years

then read thru ALL the domains wanted threads, going back 10 years

as you go, write down your questions

then, use the forum's search feature, to find the answers to your questions.

and that's just for starters!

when you finish that, then let me know

Good Luck!

imo...

Hi Venkatesh,

Welcome to namepros.

Whatever Biggie has suggested makes complete sense. If you want to be successful in domaining, you need to learn a lot and namepros is a great place to start.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask on namepros. Mostly you will find answers in older threads but there is no harm in asking specific questions.

Happy Domaining!

Thanks Vaibhav. I know there is too much to learn and that's why i was asking if there is any specific books/course that would help me lead towards it. But looks like i just have to take it as i go. Read, ask questions and get familiar with namepros.

Welcome!

Try not to confuse yourself is the best advice I could give. Learn as you go, and use the experience of others here on NP to ask any questions or get advice. This place is packed full of info that will help you.

Welcome to the Forum!

As you've no doubt discovered, there is a lot of info. If you want a course as such, you can do DNAcademy.com from Michael Cyger of Domain Sherpa.com but it does cost $450. I'm almost finished with the course, and I found it useful to clear up some questions. But if you have the time and don't want to spend the $ just yet (or at all), this is a great place, and people are pretty generous in trying to help.

That's the course i was looking at too. I don't see any other course right now that's available in the market. How is the course by the way? Do you think it's worth the money? Right now i have been following name-pros and looking videos/interview from Domain Sherpa. Definitely people on Namepros are great in responding to any questions. Thanks

I have benefited from the advice of many NP members so this forum is still one of my favorite places; they are generous with advice and experience. If you want to start making sales of some names, take at look at @infosec3 's course, which was the first resource on domaining that I bought, used and made money with (and continue to make money with).

But there are many moving parts to domaining so if you don't have the inclination to categorize a lot of the knowledge shared here so that it makes sense to you, it can become confusing. And that is where you might find DNAcademy useful. There is an order to the information presented plus other areas that are mentioned here sometimes in passing (like the business aspect of domaining) and presents some that I haven't seen mentioned here (like the tax aspect of domaining). This forum and DNAcademy are a good combination--I haven't participated in their forums yet. Although you have a year to do the course, I was able to do pretty much 3/4 of it on a Saturday.

Somewhere @Zandibot recommended a book on negotiating, which I bought, read, and used to negotiate one of the first sales I made. The book is Roger Dawson's Power Negotiating for Salespeople.

Great point about older threads asking question!
Some of those question are still valid but the some of the answers maybe out dated. So don't be shy, ask your questions, just put them in your own words.

That's true and i can't deny that this forum has helped me lead into the domain buying/purchasing etc., I will look at your suggestion mentioned above. Thanks

That's what i also feel sometimes when i go back to refer to the old post. Some of them are really old and don't have activity and domain market changing dynamically i don't want to make bad decision. I may just throw in questions even though they might have been asked previously. Thanks for your reply
