I have had my domain blog for several years now (see my sig). I have monetized it with Adsense which has been adding up very slowly. I am nearing a payout, and would like some input into what I might do to monetize the site instead of Adsense.

I provide lists of unregistered domains on my blog, as well as the occasional tool or tip. The blog has been averaging about 40-50 visits/day, but click-through rates are very low. I believe I have a lot of repeat visitors to the site.

I'd like to provide something useful, instead of the same Godaddy ads over and over. Maybe some advertising or other service.

Thanks in advance for your input...

Simple. Get rid of the right side bar and mix adsense (or some other cpc) in between par1 part2 part3 etc. Also, NO ADSENSE BORDERS...

You might try a "Tip Jar"

I have heard some bloggers make good money from a "Tip Jar." You'll have to research it a bit, but I think it works well when you provide a free service.

I would think someone might get a domain from your list and may flip it or develop it. You could add a small graphic picture of a tip jar and it takes the visitor to Paypal where they can leave a tip.

Here's an excerpt from one article: "I put a tip jar on my site in 2002 after a friend suggested it," he says. "I thought it was a dumb idea, but I earned $1,300 in the first few days."

The article is at: http://www.rd.com/content/make-money-using-your-computer/

Good luck - hope it grows for you.

Thansk to both of you ~ +REP given...

I added the tip jar graphic. We'll see if that has any impact.
I removed the adsense from the sidebar. I added some more, but the ads were similar to the existing block, so I just have the one now.

StantheMan, Outstanding Idea! :tu:

yandig, Please keep us informed how this works out for you. Not really as interested in the dollar amount (keep that to yourself), as I am in the amount of use it gets.

This was my first visit to your blog (shame on me), but you offer up some very nice "avail to reg" names.

Good Luck with this.
