Domain Availability Lookup (API)

Hello,

Do any registrars (or 3rd party providers) provide an API, free or commercial to check domain availability ("NOT" WHOIS data)?

I'm developing a small lookup script for myself and I need an API to check all TLDs and ccTLDs. I wonder how how services like ajaxdomainsearch and instantdomainsearch check domains?

I'd greatly appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

When you do a search at a "registrar", they ping the "registry" for the TLD, but the registrars above offer an API.

eNom is looking really good, do you know if they offer checking and registration of ccTLDs as well?
