When assessing a domain for possible registration, which of the following metrics do you feel are most important? I assume that part of the answer to this question depends on how one would plan to use a domain of course...

Overture?
WordTracker?
PPC?
Google Freq?
Alexa Rank?
Backlinks?
Other .tld's taken?
Name Length?
Snap Appeal?

If one was looking for Parking Revenue as opposed to Development potential as opposed to Resale value then I would think the "weight" associated with each individual metric would be different.

All that being said, how important are Overture results as opposed to Wordtracker and Google Freq?... And if possible - which of these 3 metrics do you find most telling about the potential of a possible registration?

Any insight you guys and girls could provide would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

B-)

Overture? Outdated info
WordTracker? Yes
PPC? Depends if you plan on parking
Google Freq? Yes, if you are talking about Returns/Results.
Alexa Rank? Yes and No. This data can be outdated as well
Backlinks? Yes and the Quality of the links
Other .tld's taken? Yes and No. Depends if it's a "New" technology etc
Name Length? Yes
Snap Appeal? Not sure what this is, so I would say No!

The most important, Wordtracker results, Google returns IMO. If nobody is searching or talking about the term, that ='s nobody is interested either.

i just posted a similar question here about the difference in price between boxliners.com and coffee.org...and all of the products in between.

There's a nice quote from rick latona about something you might be referring to with "snap appeal", he thinks it's the clincher, if i read correctly.

wordtracker - love it and hate it. what sort of WT figures do people like to see for a .com? Above 20? Above 200? Above 1000?

And do you settle for less wordtracker if it's a clean "product name" (affiliate sales and aftermarket value), versus a name that you'll "just" get CPC clicks for? Or is it all the same for you?
