Does XSitePro work for you?

I had seen XSitePro mentioned as a tool for website development so I downloaded their free trial and have have been playing with it for a couple of days.

Version 2 was apparently released in 2008 to a large fanfare and large affiliate commissions. 2010 would seem like a natural time for a new release but I have not seen anything indicating the software is being actively worked on and/or that a new release is in the works. Is that correct?

The complaints I found about the software tended to be from people who like to code things themselves. My sense is they were never the target market so a failure to accommodate them is not necessarily a bad thing. Is that correct?

Insights from people who have used it to build a bunch of sites would be appreciated.

I use this to build my 1 page sites for promoting my domains...Its great to make a site in 15 min or so thats not fancy but gets to the point. I would reconmened and use it weekly!

I have used Xprosite and it does work. It has nice built in seo functions ie: Site Maps, etc; and I have made 20 page websites no problem. I printed out the hundred page book and then followed step-by-step.

I have number 1 serp rankings for some niche terms, especially with Bing because they dig keyword domain names.

I bought it to make websites myself as I am illiterate in all skills necessary to make a decent website: programming, graphics, etc.

BUT........I think I should have started to learn Wordpress. That is much much better than Xsite..but you gotta know some things. Ask in forums for Wordpress help, you can get folks for $10 to load files and themes.

Would I recommend...yes. But, only is you want to make sites that are better than parked pages. You will learn new skills too.

Negatives: graphics suck. I had person make custom graphic headers for all my sites and some bottom footer graphics to spice them up.

But it seems I never broke out of the set 3 column sites...definitely not Web 2.0. Remember that, the graphics and layouts are "old school". Sites look and feel old and clunky...not fresh.

But like I said, place original content on them.....couple thousands words; get proper keywords; get an original graphic header made up for $10 and you be jammin.

You will have acceptable sites that search engines index and give you nice traffic but the style is old and clunky and doesn't seem modern to me.

Opinion: Learn and grow with Wordpress...the themes are unbelievable and beautiful and the backend is great for novices. Just ask around for some help.

What is driving me to look at tools like XSitePro is the rate of change with wordpress and the need for a database behind every install. I have several wordpress sites up using the thesis template. They look nice and some get good traffic. However, if I had very many it feels like I could spend full time updating them and the plugins to the latest versions.
