Hey,

I am looking for a new Webhost for my Sports Forum :td:

I am thinking about buying Web Hosting from Doc-U-Host (doc-u-host.com)

Does anybody know this Web Hosting Provider? Should I take it?

I did not know where to post this - so i posted it here (:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I am almost positive that they oversell. Hosts who just try to have the highest space/bandwith for the lowest possible price are not good. First of all, they oversell, so your sites will be not as stable and load slower. They will also have very poor support and dont care as much about your business because they have so many other clients. You probably wont even need all the extra space/bandwith for a small forum. Good luck with your site!

Looks like they've been in business a little more than a month.
They are a reseller.
They don't control their own domain.
They sell advertising on their site.
They are liars because there is no such thing as unlimited disk space.
They claim to be a Nevada based company but all of their pages show a Vienna address.
Their web plans show the largest one offers 100 Terabytes of transfer. Either another lie or they just don't know what they are talking about.
They claim that their billing page is secure but there is no https page.

Two questions.
How did you hear about this host and what about them makes you think that they will be around in 2 months with this bizarre lack of a business plan?

I see doc-u-host.com has had members suspended at WHT as well as the URL censored for continued spam.
Why do I get the feeling that this is the same case here?

I was about to mention the WHT case.

sectorfour, did you even bother to read the post or the thread?
First of all it's spam. This site owner is trying to direct traffic to his site. Secondly you are posting an offer in a non advertising forum. Perhaps you should restrict your offers to the advertising forums.

I dont think the poster is trying to direct traffic to that site, because it does not promote it and it is not a hyperlink. Also, I chatted with the poster.

What are you talking about?

This sectorfour guy clearly posted a hyperlink, and it's outright selfish advertising, which is reflective of their questionable advertising practices IMHO

If you're talking about the Original Poster, it's likely advertising as well, as mentioned on another forum. As you can see, the smilies are reversed and messed up, quite common in random bot posts

I don't see any contact info in the OP or in the OP's profile. How were you able to chat with the poster?

If you see a host that offer either Unlimited Space or Unlimited Bandwidth...don't go with them. Avoid them. You surely will have trouble in the future if you become their client.

Jeffrey unless it unlimited bandwidth and you can tell by the price!
Like my top package $10 a month gives unlimited bandwidth, but the prob is most sites dont use more then 5gb.

Why lie to people?
Unlimited bandwidth is a lie. If most sites don't use more than 5gb why don't you be honest and offer real limits?
I personally would avoid a host who is so desperate that they have to lie and deceive in order to get clients.

If they are lying about bandwidth what else might they be lying about?

there is no such thing as "unlimited" there is always a limit how much transfer can be pushed through at a time.

Hi,

They gave me a Free 3 day Trial of the Standard Plan....the server seems to be fast and the uptime is nice...

They gave me links to the server stats:

<Removed Silly Active link to CRAP Hosting>

and

<Removed Silly Active link to CRAP Hosting>

Their plans are really cheap....i have been sceptical too at the beginnig...but it seems to be a good company....

I was about to signup with them past december and found the fact they had a few time in business as hosting but related to another sites long time established.

However when I went to the signup area to find a simple script that any newbie can setup to sell space and the fact that they had to process the orders manually, I decided think it twice

Kind of sad the lack of honesty in the hosting business.
I guess some people will do anything to get customers, even go on forums and lie to make people think they are customers of their own company.

Shows a lot of desperation and lack of a business plan. I would definately avoid such a fly-by-night type operation.
