DO you like male/female first names in .tv ?

One problem is many are $500 premium so IMO makes the non premiums worthwhile. There is no room in the reseller world to flip a firstname.tv that is $500 a year IMO. They are mostly a vanity name and you can flip the Firstnametv.com which I like a lot and they all get some traffic daily.

I think another thing that is cool about the FirstName.tv is if you are going to have an online show. Brandi.tv is pretty cool IMO and brandable I picked up in drop with some others and put out a feeler thread for sale, but ended the sale because I would like to keep Brandi and Candi the others I will sell. The only other one I have had is Nadine.tv which gets 1 to 8 uniques a day.

Could also be cool for a product name. Again IMO

First names are brilliant IMO for all sorts of reasons. Vanity is certainly one reason, but what could be a better email address than yourself or blog site? Also for branding they are fantastic, particularly female names (clothing / perfume range etc).

Many of the western "well known" names are Premium, but there are lots of very popular first names from other societies that are not Premium - particularly Indian names.

I like 1st names as well, but as you mentioned, many of them are premiums :td:

Also, with more & more people getting on the net & wanting to develop their own sites & video sites, who wouldn't want to own their FirstName online if they can get it?

I am a big fan - I have three (all normal reg). I can see them being popular as adult sites.

I don't know much on this and on traffic factors.

But I would rather own name tv.com then paying 500 a year or even a 1000 a year. I wouldn't even grab my wifes name in .tv format. Hope she dosent read this one and I would be in the dog house. Lol.

Again, I could be wrong with this and .tv format on names.

On a positive note, my favorite .tv company Justin.tv is using first name and that explains how I am wrong I am sure.

I'm a fan as well and have around 20, mainly non-premium, except for Mick.tv and Jana.tv ($50 renewal each), only received one offer so far (for Gladys.tv), but I'm a patient guy :)

As making websites is getting easier and more people will have personal websites, it's a great investment in my opinion.

Agree 100 % Mark
I can see them being popular as adult sites.
Agree with you Grooves its a natural fit even for a modeling non-adult website.

Although I don't have any, I think well known first name .tv is pretty good :)

I registered the #1 most popular first name in the world (by far) which is
Muhammad.tv for $500 premium. My wife thought I was nuts, but all it takes is just 1 Muhammad (maybe a big oil guy from the "middle east" who will offer
me big bucks or or a few thousands barrels of oil:)) for the name.

Thanks, Jim

This is slightly off thread, but [Last Name].com's have quite a market. Obviously a very popular last name is worth anything, but even last names where there appears to be few people listed in the telephone can command fantastic prices if someone somewhere in the world wants "their" name.

From what I can gather, most are regged but they do drop, and you do get offers.

As I said, its off thread, but thought it worth mentioning.

i am curious on this and been thinking about this today as i got some sleep...

has there been many firstname.tv sales?

No that's fine Mark worth mentioning, do you think last name is worth building a small portfolio?

OH you said lastname.com ok well Monday was the largest drop of last names in .tv.

I passed on Matthews.tv someone regged it.

The sound like porn names to me, can see the potential. Generally though first names rarely get huge prices regardless of extension, much lower than average keyword names, probably because most of the buyer interest is likely to be from individuals rather than corporates.

No I dont.

IMO, first name in .tv has far more value and its more easily identifiable (particularly for branding and vanity as discussed above) than a last name in .tv. Of course, if the last name is a "Smith" or a "Li" or "Ng" then thats different - millions upon millions with that last name.

Having said that, I have regged my own last name in .tv (and lucky enough to have the .com as well).

thank goodness ray and mr domainman told me my name had dropped- i was able to get it- it was reg fee- but dottie is not that popular at all- but thats ok, its still my name, and thanks to microguy i also have dottietv.com- and dorothy.tv to boot- so, i pretty much got myself coverd, with myself!

i do have MaryJane.tv- it was reg fee too- i like that name- again, not overly popular, but we know it does have "other" meanings  and it is spidermans girlfriend!
