Do You Ignore Members?

Over the years I have added the occasional person to the ignore list, and then not even thought about them again. I noticed in my account settings the option to review 'people I ignore' earlier today. The count is up to six, though I honestly do not know if all of them are still active here. I would suspect a couple of spammers are long gone.

Theoretically, you say to yourself, hey I want to hear everyone's opinion, I don't ignore, even if they disagree with me on everything. The reality is, at least for me, that life is too short, someone that disagrees with me on almost everything is not going to change my opinion on anything, and certainly is not worth using up my limited energy in endless debates.

So what's your philosophy on ignoring members? Yes or no?

I just ignore answering their posts or liking or thanking them.
Because even the most -----t (insert your own pejorative here) post good stuff once in a while.

arrogance plus ignorance, makes you want to ignore a mo-fo.
but I have yet to use that setting on a member.

I think mostly they were spammers. If you had asked me before I looked I would have guessed two.

Well, if they are spammers I simply report them, most of the times I don't encounter them again. If its simple ignorance or rude attitude I just let it roll - showing that in a public forum for all to see is punishment enough

Well, I'm new here but personally, hate to admit it, I love all the a#%holes, bullshi#%rs, drama queens and the like. Absolutely priceless, absurd comedy at its best. So it would take quite a lot for me to ignore a certain user.

I had someone block me recently. He was trying to bait, badger, and antagonize and when that didn't work he told everyone he was going to block me, and so he did.

I find sometimes it's best to write in a font that only some users can see.
(If you can see the line above you're on my normal list)

(if you can see the line above this one you're on my special friends list - congrats)

But I don't use ignore... this is possible by spending most of my time in the Shoot The Sh.. thread where bad attitudes are frowned upon (generally)

I may be wrong but if another member + Quote's your ignored person you can still see what they're saying, kind of defeats the purpose.

Never used it so not sure but have read the above in other forums...

I have set exactly 1 member to ignore in all of these years that I am visiting this forum

I have never gone to the point of actually putting them on ignore. I just brush it by and keep going really.

I ignored the one and only person a little over a month ago and it sure felt good. Should have done it a long time ago, except I didn't know of this feature. Now it feels like I'm breathing fresh air every time I'm on NP... which is daily.

Did not use the feature yet and probably won't do it but in extreme cases it can mean a lot. I remember 2-3 years ago I really really wanted to ignore some users and I was pretty pissed about what they wrote which was total bs.
