Do I taken them to court?

This comes under web development as I don't know where else to post and I need some help. I have a site that promotes a merchant using affiliate links. The merchant has broken the affiliate agreement and not paid me for nearly a year. The money owned is between $1K and $2k. Unfortunately, their business - which is still operating - is several states away. Does anyone have any idea what I could do to recoup my earnings? Just looking for info and ideas at this point. They don't return my calls or e-mails anymore.

lol, that seems to be working well, when i visited i got:

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Not a good idea. While you know exactly how much they owe you (1K to 2K), they could sue you for all sorts of imagined losses due to the downtime. Also, hacking in this instance would constitute a criminal offense traceable right to your very doorstep since they know who and where you are, coz of you being an affiliate.

agreed that would really not solve the problem! besides that you dont go hacking from your doorstep.. You plug yourself up to a phone box or use a cloned mobile... (not to give you ideas or anything)

Did you call them? Maybe a stupid question but I had to ask.
I would be on the horn with them at least once per day.

If it is a "real" business I would call the BBB even though they may not have any jurisdiction.
Also see if they are a member of the affiliated chmber of commerce anc call them.
The AG in their state should be able to help.

If it were me i would fire off a nice letter outlining everything and the length of time. Be sure to keep DETAILED logs of every attempt to cpontact them and the response or lack there of.
Send all snail mail correspondence via certified mail.

The last thing is to look up an attorney near them in the yellow pages and see if they'll try and collect on your behalf for a %.

Lastly, I would out them! I'm sure they'd love the increased traffic to their site!
