I hope DNJournal holds no lose to this hacking incident whereby someone is simply trying to pass a message to another forum. Just don't understand why won't the hacker issue his/her problem to the other forum's admins/owner instead? Going around the bush doesn't look like the habits of a hacker.

Yes and no. DNjournal is the industry magazine. The (DN)forums (along with Namepros) are the mainstream communications between domainers. It is an excellent threat method, but people like this are scum (and therefore be eliminated).

Yes it's possible to track from IP but it will take time. Assuming he used proxies from other part of the country, that's another problem. The site still in defaced stage, anyone inform Duke about it?

Not that easy. He's smart enough to gain root on the box, then he is sure smart enough to remove himself from any sort of log. They'll never find out who did it. Just replace content, and secure the hole in the box that gave him root.
