Distributed failover

We have a client who has requested a distributed failover hosting setup ( servers located at 2 seperate data centers ).

The site is a heavily modified drupal install, so a LAMP environment is needed.

Can anyone recommend a hosting company for this? Non distributed failover might also be acceptable.

To make things even more impossible, UK based servers would be preferred ( not required though )

We currently have a load balanced setup at firstserv, but their prices are extremely high, and this morning their datacentre lost power, the generator failed and the servers failed to come back up once power was restored. So we're not keen to use them in future.

There is no fixed budget at this point in time, I was really just looking for any recommendations / pointers to hosts who can provide this kind of setup.

I think that tere are a lot of companies offering Web stack, I think the main issue for you will be finding web hosting company with two DC.

Have you checked the offer sections in various forums like WHT?
I have heard hostingzoom provides failover, but I have no idea how their services are.

yeah I have had a look over at WHT, but i've not had the best first impression of that place to be honest.

in my experience, hostingzoom are excellent, but afaik their failover setup is only within a single datacenter and has inflexible limitations ( e.g. 3% cpu usage ) which makes it unsuitable for our client.

I am not much familiar about their failover setup, asking them would be the best way.
But I have heard a lot about their restrictions on cpu and execution times.

I think the greatre part of web hosting companies have those restrictions.
