i'm not a pro but i'm sure that's over estimation, besides, i think there will be trademark/copyright issues with this domain

100,000 USD?

No... lol.

I honestly don't see much value in this...

1) TM issues
2) .NET

Let's ignore the possible TM issues for a second.

It is a decent name, but not worth more than low $X,XXX range even to a very interested end user.

To a reseller the price would be much lower.

D***** = -$100k (TM)
tickets = +1k (Keyword)
.net = /2 (TLD)
therefore = -49,500$

Result Dump it
and BIG Word of advice for a newcomer
1/ Don't believe 100K Appraisals of Crap names
2/ Don't try to convince us of 100K values for Crap Names

I think the person on the other forum meant a $100K fine for TM Infringment. But even without the TM its maybe a low x,xxx at best.but the Tm issue kills iit WHo the heck said it was worth 100K thats so silly.

Here is the link to the $100K appraisal. i think that person was being sarcastic.The less fees comment was Legal Fees he was talking about. He was not saying your domain is worth $100K.

I actually think this is a great name. If there was such a TM issues with the term Disney Tickets then why does damn near every billboard on 95 form NC to FL have big ads for Disney Tickets? I doubt you would get $100k for damn near ANY domain these days, but I fail to see how that name is not worth 4-5 figures to the right buyer.

I think some people are too paranoid about TM issues to be honest. However in this case I would be somewhat concerned since Disney actually owns the .com

Actually, after I made my post I investigated the .com version as well and found out the same thing. ALSO look at buydisneytickets.com. The page that comes up makes me think the owner may well have been hit with a cease and desist order of some sorts. I did note that when googling the term, no site that I saw used the term disney in its domain name. Most often its was 'dw' something. based on all of this, on second though I think the name may have little value if any at all. Perhaps you could contact disney and give them a line about not realizing it was an infringement and have them slide you a one day pass for being honest enough to turn it in! :)

disney has been very aggressive lately, especially names with the "disney" TM in them.
Mark Monitor is a muther.

Uggh. I own about 35 Disney sites, many with the name "Disney" included in the domain. I know Disney legal very well, and I know what they are fine with, and what they are not. They would not be fine with this at all.

DO NOT develop this name. Disney is particularly aggressive on any site that has to do with park passes. This is a very touchy subject with them. They have been known to come after you very aggressively, and from my knowledge on this, have never lost a case, and usually sue for very large amounts.

You have already stated you are a newbie, consider this a lesson learned, and move on to something else. There is a reason why this domain was still available on July 23, 2008 for you to register. It isn't worth anything to you or anyone else.

If you plan on developing a site, I would strongly suggest you get your "lawyers" to sign a letter that guarantees that they will cover any costs you incur when you are sued in a few months. They will just laugh at you, the same way I am laughing at you right now for even thinking about developing this domain.

Never mind, I take it all back. Go ahead and develop the site. Ruin your life.

Just starting out, why would you even think of starting with something that you know there is a 99% chance that you will get sued for? Actually, I think there is a 100% chance of being sued, but whatever.

I am telling you, I own over 200 domains with Disney in them. I use a few of them for active sites. I wouldn't touch this one with a 10 foot poll. No way. I make 90% of my income off of Disney. We do close to 2M+ in sales with Disney each year. I am not some yahoo blowing smoke out of my backside. Take my advice and move on.

Nothing you can do with this domain will end positively.

If you are looking to give sincere advice, which I do appreciate, there are better ways of going about than "laughing" at someone. I would not have started this thready had I not wanted and respected the advice of others on here.

I am sorry, but the fact that you are even considering taking time to develop this domain is a laughing matter.

I am not nearly as paranoid about Disney as most folks, but in a case like this, it is so obvious to me that you should just run as fast as possible in the other direction.

You asked for an appraisal: $0

Basically the exact same amount everyone else has given you in this thread. Drop the domain, your life will be better for doing so.

Couldn't have stated it any better myself.

I appreciate everyone's comments, and barefoottech, I was in no way trying to convince you of a 100K "crap name", only stating what was told by me by more than one person, but thanks for giving this newcomer the advice.

1/ It is a crap name
2/ You were trying to convince us of it's supposed 100k value, otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned it.
3/ Remember , not every name that is available is worth developing. Sometimes there is A VERY GOOD reason it was still available. Take Cashable's sound advice (He is the Disney name expert) and drop the name.

Put the $10 Registration Fee down to experience and move on.

Cashable: Thank you once again. As I mentioned in my pm to you, I am not trying to stir up any problems and appreciate your advice. Do you think it would be good for me to contact Disney myslef and explain to them my "newbie mistake" before something happens?

Barefoottech: No I was NOT trying to convince anyone of the 100k appraisal. I mentioned it because I wanted more opinions on it and to see what others thought about that. If I did not want other opinions on the matter I would have accepted the 100K opinion and been done with it. I am not here to argue with anyone, only to get the opinions of others that have been doing this longer than I have and who have the experience. So, please, I ask that you all bear with me while I attempt to learn the ropes. Thank you once again to all who have offered their advice and have been helpful.

No problem. You are fine, I wouldn't bother contacting them. Either drop the domain, or just let it ride out the year. As long as it is not developed, you may get a letter from them requesting the domain, but you aren't going to get sued. If it were me, I would just drop the domain and forget this ever happened.
