Thats hilarious, its advice for someone obviously new to the industry who has just registered 100 of them, that is a waste of money, regging 2 names in a niche that you are familiar with and have ad sales with is not a huge risk

Whether you agree or not, its the best advice for someone who is obviously getting excited about a new extension and what great keywords they can get, when there are no previous sales and they will most likely end up dropping them all anyway

OP, take whichever advice you want, its your money

It's doubtful that .top will be very popular but you never know - not sure where you even reg them..
I say anyone can take a risk in whatever they want as long as they can afford to lose all of it.

True, but I'm happy to take the risk if its just a couple, I dont mind dropping a couple in certain niches

I can assure you new domainers are not regging 100 names thinking "I can afford to lose this money", they are thinking "If I sell this name for $$$, and then times that by 100, wow thats a lot of money"

Thats the mentality my advice was really aimed at....

Personally I like this extension because is not oriented for the english/chinese languages only. It makes sense in many other languages. I come from Italy and I prefer to see "italiankeyword.top" than "italiankeyword.xyz" or "italiankeyword.website" (just an example!)

I'm not sure how popular its going to be.. But I believe .IO, .LY, .TO are getting pretty valuable.

As Google also treats these as gTLDs..
