I thought it would be interesting to post this .bz website.

I have no interest in it.
I am just shocked.

It shows me that some small business said the heck with the
traditional extensions, the name is perfect for me.

I've been to Belize. It's a great place to scuba dive, but you wouldn't want to try and get an email there, because it is nowhere near the leading edge of technology.

There are only about 275,000 Belizean in total. My guess would be less than 10% of them have a computer, and then only a very small percentage of those have a domain name. The average income in Belize is less than $5000, so I'd say owning domain names or even computers there is not a priority except for international businesss or the tourist industry.

If you wan't a vacation away from computers, Belize is a super place to go. I went to an island dive resort there that didn't even have telephones or television and used a private generator for electricity. The only communications was marine radio. However, they did have a .com website managed by a travel agency and hosted in the US.

I'd bet more Koreans and Russians have .bz domain names that Belizeans.

Belizians can register. .bz domains in the subdomains .com, .net, .org, and the government uses .gov and .edu. Here are the counts on those:

.com.bz - 59 sites

.net.bz - 25 sites

.org.bz - 37 sites

.gov.bz - 13 sites

This would make it attractive to offshore business, but I think Panama has a better business climate. IMHO

I don't think so, or there would be more business there like the Caymans has. I think the biggest businesses there are Chiquita growing bananas and Coke harvesting Coco beans for cola. I think agriculture and fishing is about 1/3 of their economy and tourism (Diving, sailing, fishing, Mayan ruins) are the fairly significant as well.
