Hey all -

Like you to take a peek at DigtialMorphine.com if and when you get a chance. Its a place I put together to post the music I remix and mix together.

If you like, let me know what you think about my mixes and remixes too...if your into music or that kind of music.

Thanks - I really appriciate the feedback - Keep in mind, the site is a work in progress :hehe:

thanks again in advance for your comments and input -

What a fantastic looking website! Perhaps the page title could reflect the page you are viewing. It's interesting that there are external links to a coppermine gallery - why not incorporate it into your design? Do you add music very regularly?

It's quite annoying that when you revisit the home page the sound is played - perhaps you could set a cookie so that doesn't happen.

Your site does not have valid coding: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.digitalmorphine.com/

The mailto link on the page "http://digitalmorphine.com/moreinfo.html" is not spam protected - perhaps you could add that - that and a title of the page. You also have no META tags. I clicked on the arrow next to search and nothing happened.

You have a lot of "Click Here" links like "To contact Digital Morphine: Click Here" why not "contact Digital Morphine" as a link?

Awesome site IMO :tu: - The things mentioned by " music_man " could be addressed :
The music restarting / Contact Info etc ... - But The site is Well Balanced and Professional in Appearance ..... Nice Job ~ As far as the music goes ... well - I'm a bit more "Old School" - lol ....

Nice :)

AWESOME SITE holy cow, nice.

I gotta ask, that musicman user, what is the deal with "Valid Coding"? If it looks great, what's the problem?

Hi Brittanyblair

That is a fair question. Im sure you could build a fantastic site on your computer which is just right and looks amazing. But how good does it look on someone elses computer?

XHTML is also really clean and efficient coding, that is you close the tags you open among other things. XHTML is HTML in a way merged with HTML so that you have well organised and structured pages.

For a good introduction as to why XHTML is better than HTML take a look at these pages: http://www.w3schools.com/xhtml/xhtml_why.asp

and

http://www.w3schools.com/xhtml/xhtml_html.asp

If you are a website designer, it is almost your obligation to give your client a well formed and compatible as well as flexible website.

AAah i see. Didnt think about it that way, and I always wondered how in the heck a website would look great on everyone's resolution...monitor size...etc.
Thanks for the heads up,

-Brittany.

awesome web site, love the music too! One thing I gotta say, the page sorta...dissappears. I think it says username and password but theres text I can see half of that I can select, but It's off the screen. So a slight compatibility problem there. Otherwise love it. The flash header is done extremely well and I like ya pose in it.

Thanks for the input...I was hoping that I would get some suggestions like what you provided. So please do expand on waht a valid coding does for my site. Also, how do you "spam protect" a email address on a website? maybe that question sounds stupid, but I would love to hear how you do this.

Hi

Sure. Valid coding means that your code adheres to certain guidelines set by the doctype you choose to use. This means that your coding is efficient and flexible as well as looking good. A good place to learn about valid coding is this website: http://www.netmechanic.com/news/vol6/html_no20.htm

As regarding spam protection, there are things called spam harvesters, which crawl the internet and visit webpages, scan the webpage and collect email addresses, from which they put in a list and then use that to send spam messages. You can encrypt your email address by using ascii code in your webpage. You can do it yourself by referring to this website: http://www.webdevelopersnotes.com/tips/html/35.php3 or a generator can be found here: http://www.ahgrens-dental.se./pages/demos/scrambleEmail.html a good article can be found here: http://accessfp.net/protect-your-email-address.htm
