Wondering what value for that domain. Die Smartwatch = The Smartwatch in German.
Of course the "die" has a different meaning in English, so the appeal is limited to German speaking users.
For reference: diesmartwatch.de sold for €2,500 at Sedo in June 2020.

I'd say that the .de has more value than .com because of exactly the issue you outlined.
