WASHINGTON – A senior Russian embassy official is threatening to use force if necessary to prevent the U.S. from deploying combat weapons in space.

Vladimir Yermakov, senior counselor at the Russian embassy in Washington, said his country is urging the U.S. through diplomatic channels against any plans for space militarization. But he told a space conference Russia would have to react, possibly with force, if the U.S. successfully put a "combat weapon" in space.

Wrong...the reason most people bash the US is because it is the #1 superpower and most active country in the world. Not all US bashers fall into that catagory because some have valid reasons and others are just not educated enough about the US and it's role in the world. Hell most poor middle east countries/cities don't know jack about the US except what the terrorists and other evil people tell them. The biggest reason that theses terrorist exist and are strong is because they do what the cults do in other countries they recruit the poor and those with low self esteem and no future in life...filling their heads with if you do this for Ali then you will goto a better place..and so on...as far as others it's just the natural order of things..if the UK was the #1 superpower and active country in the world it would be the same as it is now...people form the US would bash the UK and so would others in the world....the US is a geat place and I am very happy that I was born here and nowher else....Italy is a great place as well....never been to the UK but have heard it is a good place to party. The point is every country has it's goods and bads saying the Americans think to much of themselves is foolish because it's just pride for our country just like any other people in their country...People like Johnny Depp who I think is an awesome actor but I do not like him at all because he does movies for US movie production companies and goes back to France where he lives and bashes the US....talk about a hypocrite. Oh well great discussion so far

I don't understand how people can sit there and bash America for invading Iraq or Afghanastan when they sit idley by while millions suffer. Oh no America is invading Iraq they should just leave those people alone and let them get killed with their children and gased by their own leader. America grabs it's balls and does what needs to be done to protect the people and the future of the world....who the hell wants terrorist running countries and evil dictators doing the same? In my opinion all known evil dictators such as the one in North Korea should be outsted as well...all the free countries should ban together and over run those countries and help rebuild them through democracy...everyone would be free and America is doing it one day at a time while others sit back in their leather couches in front of their tv complaining they have no right..BS even if Saddam didn't have weapons of mass destruction..which we all know he did and they are in Sudan..but even if he did not..he still needed to be ousted...I say God bless America for standing up for the littel people....

Many americans come over as very arrogant as well as having many other bad traits, I know all Americans are not arrogant as I know many personally.

well, not sure what else to say here, I wont let the actions and words of a "few" little brits put a bad taste in my mouth for the UK (we know that most support us because Blair won, so ha ha there bucko's). The UK will remain strong so long as the US does.. despite the ill will and complete ignorance of these "people"

It is true that the UK rely heavily on the US but the same can be said the other way round as well.

Also go back to the reports of the election and you will find that Blair had a very major shock with some of the results, Labour lost quite a few of what were considered safe seats.

Also you have to remember that the main opposition is the conservatives who are also pro war but anyway they were very weakened because of a certain female called Maggy Thatcher. The closest party that was anti war didn't stand a chance of winning (although did increase their vote share)

And in what way does the UK treat the Irish badly?? The reason the UK still rule northern Ireland is because there is still a major divide between the nationalists and the seperatists. Until an agreement can be made this situation will stay. And of course it will not get anywhere with organisations like the real IRA continuing killing people and with holding evidence on murders etc (speaking particularly about the mcarthy murder). Also the IRA are the prime suspect with the biggest ever bank robbery in the history of the UK, shame they can't use the money the notes stolen have been changed so they can't be used.

Thee is nothing wrong with having pride in where you live but when it get's to an extent of being blind to your own mistakes then it goes too far. Many posts in this thread seem to show that some of you beleive that America can never do wrong, these people need to wake up and look around them, only then can a nations problems be resolved.

Where did I say they were my beliefs as I pointed out I know many Americans personally that do not have these traits, what I said is that is the way they come across, you need to read the whole posts not just what you want to read.

No one ever said or implied that America does no wrong.. I mean look, we almost elected Gore in 2k right? no one is perfect..and we..more than any other nation (including the UK) air our dirty laundry for the world to see.

we are very open about our errors and trials than anything else... while not a point of national pride.. it is..in the least.... something worth recognizing for it's merit.

However, when saying America is evil, then failing to outline the reasons for such...well.. I will stand against you..or anyone, here or in person because I know. I've lived here my whole life and have firsthand knowledge.

I've never lived in the UK and dont know the mentality or reasonings for the beliefs and votes. So, how fair of me would it be to criticise your leaders and choices?
