So just listed a few minutes ago on NameBio is a sale on Flippa of what seems to be 3.com for $3100. I can't find any other single digit number .com sales in NameBiio. Is this really a sale, or is it some sort of IDN? I would have thought a single digit would go for much more than that and did not know they were even released in .com. @Michael

I just thought of the obvious thing to do and used DT to check Whois. 3.com is registered (since Jan 1992) but is listed as RESERVED which I take to mean that no one can own it and sell it.

There are only 6 original TLD single character domains. They are all grandfathered from the days before they became restricted.

q.com
x.com
z.com
i.net
q.net
z.org

At this point any single character ENGLISH non-IDN is liquid wholesale in 7+ figures range

It's a waste x.com is not used atm. Expensive purchase to merely display an x or an y :)

This is actually not true. There are at least a handful of .org in use, u.org, c.org, b.org, a.org...

Edit: Apparently a bunch of these were auctioned in 2013 through Project94.

I contacted @Michael and he removed from Namebio so this situation is closed. It was an IDN, it's not on Namebio.

$3100 is not bad for a single character IDN.

A single character IDN dot com posted here at NamePros not long ago couldn’t even sell for $22.

Yet it is still useless domain, unless it's a character on random keyboard IMO.

The problem with IDNs is they require education to everyone person who wishes to land on the page.

“You enter this then you type this....” &etc.

lol .. I didn't see your edit and came back here to mention I forgot the Project 94 .org domains .. lol

That being said .. my statement regarding the 7+ figure liquid pricing was only for the .com's. Not saying the others couldn't possibly reach 7 figure .. but certainly no "+" after the 7.

What's going on with o.com these days? Seems there was talk it might be released?
