my hubby was diagnoseed with diabetes- his sugar is sky high and i have been trying to absorb as much info on it as fast as i can-

does anyone know where i can find online a simple do/dont food list? i am reading about indexes and pyramids- but i am looking for a food list- eat this, dont eat this, ect...

it is confusing- one place said no white bread, then another said it was low on the glycemia chart- very confusing :'(

Ok first off Im really sorry to hear but....

With what we know today - Diabetes does not need to control our lives :)

I am a clinic nurse at the local Diabetes centre so feel free to ask away :xf.love:

Maybe this site may help alittle http://www.diabetes.org.uk/

Dont take this the wrong way but is hubby alittle tubby :) if so onset of diabetes in later life can be controlled with diet if they have got it just because they are over weight :guilty:

If not :

There are No *no no* foods as such. He can eat anything still but... he needs to understand food the way it works and know what moderation is :hehe:

Dont be fooled into the crap diabetes choc sweets etc. These will just cost you money.

Its not a special diabetes diet he needs its a healthy diets just like you and I. Hes meals should revolve around carbs being the main part, veg next protein some and fat little. Splash some fruit in there and he should be fine.

Take care
