Hey guys,

I will keep this brief and welcome all questions afterwards.

I started off a forum for my local community on 1st Jan 2005. I live on the Isle of Wight, England - a small Island off the southern coast of mainland Britain.

A picture showing exactly where the Island is:

The site grew quickly and very quickly came to be the major forum for the Island. There are several others around which get 1 or 2 posts a month (not joking :yell: ) but my site overtook them all in days in terms of post count and members. This was all via word of mouth.

It now has over 30,000 posts and 250 odd members. Recently it has slowed down and over the months I have spent less and less time dealing with the site due to me starting a new job.

I am now in the position of not having enough time to continue running the site or taking it back to where it was. I hope somebody here will do their research into the Island and see the potential in the sites future. For example, the Island in August holds the largest sailing event in the world - Cowes Week. There is serious potential to cash in on the site.

I simply ran a few google ads and have more than made my money back each month in clicks. I have made hundreds overall from the site (I dont want to go into too much detail due to Adsense T&C). I know specialists in advertising could pull alot more from the site than I have.

Well, thats about it. I am selling everything as one - the forum DB and the content pages. If you wish to buy my OWNED vb licence then perhaps we can work something out.

Any questions please PM me. Please keep offers above low $xxx. No $20 bids!

Thanks alot.

What happened to all the members? Seems like you are the only one who's posted at all so far this month?

How have you promoted the site? Have you done any post exchanges? Bought posts? Contests or other incentives?

Are there any moderators? Or other staff? If not, why?

Do you have a BIN price in mind?

As I mentioned above, I was running out of time with the site and posted less. Then the members posted less and so on.

'Spider' is another Admin, not me, and is who is currently posting. I have never promoted the site, its a local forum so advertising it anywhere online is useless. Everything is through word of mouth and all posts are real - I have never paid anybody or given incentives to post.

There are 3 Admin including myself. We felt this was enough to manage the site. I dont have a BIN price but a solid offer would not be pondered for too long.

Thanks for the questions peter.

And, thanks for the answers. But, you missed the most important one. "Do you have a BIN price in mind?" :)

Peter, as Fewski quoted above, a solid offer would not be pondered for too long. Send a PM with your best offer and hopefully we can work something out.

Thanks again.

Erg, you're going to make this difficult eh? Do you have some traffic stats?

Haha, I am not trying to make it difficult, really.

I never measured stats of any kind. The only thing I ever really looked @ was post count and membership totals, which I posted above.

Due to the nature of the site, a local forum, we did not advertise all over the net - this simply did not hit our target audience. Instead word of mouth was the key.

Cheers.

Well, you may not be trying to make it difficult, but without traffic stats, and without you telling what you want for the site, it's not easy to come up with a figure. Can you tell me what the site has been earning each month over the past few months? You should really install a stats program so potential buyers can see how much traffic it's getting currently. That's far more important than the total post count.

Attaching a Buy-it-Now of $200 via PayPal for this established community forum.

Usual rules apply - first to post 'sold' gets it. :)

Thanks.
