So I purchased a program and downloaded the zip file which now resides on my desktop. Problem is, the file was corrupt before it got to me. I've since obtained the repaired file from the vendor and it works fine. However, I'm stuck with the corrupt zip file on my desktop, and Windows refuses to let me delete it. I get the error message: "cannot delete filename. It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using this file and try again."
After shutting down everything, rebooting the computer a half dozen times, the problem still persists.
This is NOT a virus issue. It's simply a zip file that could not unzip, and seems to have gotten stuck half way. I cannot delete this file even though I've "ended task" on every application and every process possible. Still will not delete after fresh reboots.
Any help would be VERY appreciated
