Howdy!

Has anyone designed an email ad before??? OR... know of someone who can design one??

I'm thinking of trying email marketing once or twice but I'm not sure how to design a piece email that would be suitable.

Thoughts? Ideas? Offers?? If you know how to do one or have done some in the past please provide me with examples and pricing.

Thanks!

email advertising? people dont even read them, they just block the sender, never ever send email advertising, because if it arrives in my inbox, I shall personally hunt you down and gut you with a rusty knife. Now that youve heard how much I hate email advertising you should reconsider on doing it. Everyone just deletes it anyway, waste of time composing the message.

Not true at all....

Well, now that could not possibly be true since email advertising is a very profitable business. Maybe only true for spammers but right now I don't know that to be the case.

I would like to think some kind of legitimate email marketing can also be effective.

Oooh Hot Topic - The Best Email Marketing Designs...

Neat thread. There's lots of different ways to get a 'great converting email ad'. There are different styles or 'templates' to check out depending on the product or service being offered and what you, as an advertiser, want.

We'll assume for arguments sake that you identify your product legally and ethically in the From and Subject lines and the consumer opens it up and is actually looking at your spiel. Then what? After they look at your ad, how do you get them to buy/type what you want?

It depends on what your selling. Here are some tips:

If you're selling something, like a Thompson Cigar gift set, or Gevalia Kafe coffee package - make sure the creative matches the shopping cart of the website. Make it seamless. The email ad should resemble the landing page. Once on your landing page don't require a consumer to 'click' through to a 'Buy Now' option - have them 'scroll down' and enter their shipping and billing info in the same page. It increases conversions drastically. Consumers are lost on sales the deeper they go in page clicks.

If you just want a 'lead' to go into a call center, embed the form to fill in the email so the consumer can see it immediately and put in their info and have the data go directly to your server/call center. There are lots of examples like this, generally 'freebie' offers (like win a free ipod) convert great, what we call 'one field' offers that convert like mad. You can even pre-populate the form for higher conversions if you already have the consumers data in your mailing list with a little extra code.

The general rule of thumb is keep it simple. The creative should be clean, with a clear 'call to action' such as CLICK HERE NOW, or BUY NOW, or CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO. (sorry for the caps). Pretty ads get pretty results. Make sure the ad looks just like the landing page it is linked too (if it's linked at all).

Sorry, I could ramble on and on! PM me for more tips. That's what I'm here for! :gl:

Oh, and I know some designers if you want a contact.

Good information!

I figured there's gotta be a way to offer products or services via email and not be spamming! :tu:

Thanks for the invite to PM... I just may do that! ;)

You might want to try out Constant Contact. They have a lot of good tools for creating high quality HTML email newsletters and ads.

What are you designing the email template with? Just the basic html?

I can have one designed for you in photoshop so that the text will be on an image, thus no spam filters can sort any words out to have the message blocked. It'll be a simple HTML code which displays a picture. I've done similar eBay ads in the past, and my items sold very well, so I'm sure you'll be satisfied with what I can design.

There's this cool site I came 'cross that's StreamSend.com and the walk you through these templates that help you build an email.

It's an interest site in that they DO NOT offer email lists but instead help you design an email and then collect data on how your email marketing campaign is doing. Such as... was an email opened or not... etc..

No viagra ads from me! :)

I may take you up on that offer AND to clean up/fix up some banners for my ads. Affilates aren't allowed to use a comany's name if they use email. So... I have to remove their name from various flash banners.

I'll post something in the HTML forum tomorrow to see who's interest (NP$ paid) :)

Tanks!

Nice information from some users in here, I have designed e-mail adverts before and used to run www.banners2go.com, i'd be happy to work with a specification for you, send one to [email protected] and I could come up with a concept.
