Oooh Hot Topic - The Best Email Marketing Designs...
Neat thread. There's lots of different ways to get a 'great converting email ad'. There are different styles or 'templates' to check out depending on the product or service being offered and what you, as an advertiser, want.
We'll assume for arguments sake that you identify your product legally and ethically in the From and Subject lines and the consumer opens it up and is actually looking at your spiel. Then what? After they look at your ad, how do you get them to buy/type what you want?
It depends on what your selling. Here are some tips:
If you're selling something, like a Thompson Cigar gift set, or Gevalia Kafe coffee package - make sure the creative matches the shopping cart of the website. Make it seamless. The email ad should resemble the landing page. Once on your landing page don't require a consumer to 'click' through to a 'Buy Now' option - have them 'scroll down' and enter their shipping and billing info in the same page. It increases conversions drastically. Consumers are lost on sales the deeper they go in page clicks.
If you just want a 'lead' to go into a call center, embed the form to fill in the email so the consumer can see it immediately and put in their info and have the data go directly to your server/call center. There are lots of examples like this, generally 'freebie' offers (like win a free ipod) convert great, what we call 'one field' offers that convert like mad. You can even pre-populate the form for higher conversions if you already have the consumers data in your mailing list with a little extra code.
The general rule of thumb is keep it simple. The creative should be clean, with a clear 'call to action' such as CLICK HERE NOW, or BUY NOW, or CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO. (sorry for the caps). Pretty ads get pretty results. Make sure the ad looks just like the landing page it is linked too (if it's linked at all).
Sorry, I could ramble on and on! PM me for more tips. That's what I'm here for! :gl:
