anyone know of any alright design software that is cheap/free?
i was using a trial version of xara extreme which did the job until it expired...

There is a program called gimp, its like photoshop. Its free and open source.

And actually its not that bad of a program either, but I believe its only for *nix platforms? could be wrong, it came pre-installed with my distro

yes, u're.. gimp is there for windows too..
