Late Tuesday evening, the TAC protocol—which connects the Ethereum DeFi ecosystem with Telegram messenger users via The Open Network (TON)—was subjected to an attack.
According to preliminary reports, the attacker managed to siphon off over $3 million in various assets, including Tether (USDT), BLUM tokens, and other digital assets.
Following the theft, the funds began to move rapidly across networks: a portion of the USDT was swapped for Ether (ETH) and subsequently converted into Dai (DAI)—a decentralized stablecoin that cannot be frozen at the smart contract level.
Notably, a large withdrawal of BLUM tokens was recorded—approximately 58 million units—associated with Blum, a hybrid exchange operating via a Telegram Mini App. Reports also indicate the issuance of a similar volume of tokens linked to BNB, resulting in additional losses exceeding $500,000.
Details regarding the attack and potential protocol vulnerabilities are currently under investigation.
