I will relist it lower if it does not sell. I am still going to try my best to market it and get as many eyeballs on it as possible.

No, I think you did a great job with kidscostume.com. It sold high because of your hard work contacting end users, not luck. I just think that .TVs are much, much harder to sell even if you have a great name.

It will interesting to see how it does on Ebay. You may be on to something with your idea of contacting Ebay sellers, etc.

Easy with KidsCostume.com not so easy with Debug.tv. Although RawJade.com has the possibility to pull in all those selling/buying jade jewelry . We'll see

best of luck with your auctions on ebay, but IMO the appraisal section should not be always used to boost sales. otherwise everyone else would start to copy this type of appraisal request (start an auction on ebay, sedo, etc.,,,,, then post an appraisal thread with links to running auctions, etc).

hope you don't get mad at me mentioning this.

however, regarding debug.tv, i think it will be much harder to sell it. it is not comparable with kidscostume , mp3s, etc.
in fact imo this name is a reg fee name without development.
thats just my opinion.
but of course, best of luck with your ebay auction

Nope not mad at all, I am the noob on the board, and I appreciate anyone like yourself who can politely steer me in the right direction of this boards etiquette.

I will however say that my posting of domains in the appraisal section was done to get advice (which I have gotten thanks) and perhaps techniques I can use to contact more endusers (got that too). At the beginning I was not even posting the links to the auction, as I thought that was prohibited, until someone asked me to do so.

As I stated before, I was an active domainer from 2000 to 2002, then I quit to travel Europe with my Family and other things, and just let all my domains sit. I sold a couple to endusers tracking me down, but generally was not paying them much attention. I have decided to get back into it and learn how it has changed and get advice from those a lot younger and smarter then I am, which this board if facilitating.

The domains I have put in the appraisal section are all different types as I try get a handle on how things have changed. Back in 2002 .tv domains were a lot more valuable it seems, but thanks to your appraisal and others, I am beginning to realize I overpriced it on Ebay.

If I do post another domain in the appraisal section it will be different then the four previous ones.

kidscostume.com (got good appraisal and good advice)
mp3s.net (also good appraisal and good advice not to sell)
InventionAdvice.com (develop dont sell)
debug.tv (good advice, not worth what I thought it was)

So, In conclusion I don't think this section would be a useful in boosting sales as domains are not my end target nor will the pay the same as an end user, but the advice I have received here has been great!

Well I changed the experiment a bit in line with your advice/comments.

I lowered the bid to 1$ no reserve, so we will find out exactly how much it is worth, just have to wait a week.

I am still going to promote it, in the programming community, but your right 199$ was a little too ambitions.

Now before I get accused of trying to increase traffic on my ebay listings, a word of defence.

I know I posted a link to the auction at the top of the page, but that is not the main interest of my posts. I think I am getting a clearer picture of what my .coms are worth. But I will only know what potential .tv has at the end of this auction in 4 days.

I originally set a price of 199$ Microguy enlightened me that I was shooting a bit too high, so i lowered my price to 1$, I am actually really looking forward to seeing where this is going to end. As I find the biggest mistake domain sellers make is failing to contacting interested parties. I cant say I have worked at it as hard as I did with KidsCostume.com but I have put the word out to as many programmers that debug.tv is available and on auction.

There are 3 different bidders on debug.tv right now and there are still 4 more days to go till auction close, and I will continue to trackdown interested parties. The thing I like about this section, is everyone gives there appraisal, but then we get to see exactly what its worth on auction.

As funny as it seems, I still think I am going to end up with a profit (not including my time), when I sell this one. Albeit much less then I had hoped for.

I forgot to mention, if the domain sells for 10$ all the money goes to Breast Cancer Research. If it sells for more then 10$, 10% goes to Cancer Research. The Auction ends in 20 hours.
