I hate it when people don't respect deadlines.

If you promise to deliver something within 24 hours, then deliver it within that period of time. Don't come after 36 hours and throw some excuses (which can be true, but I don't give a damn) at me. If you're unable to deliver the goods/services within 24 hours, why don't you say so right away? Maybe I'll give you an extension or I'll find someone else who can do it within that time frame. Why do some people like to waste my precious time?

If I accepted to do a job and promised to get it done within 24 hours, I wouldn't sleep but I would get it done. If something gets in the way that I just can't surpass, then I would contact the buyer 12 hours earlier and inform him about that. If he wishes to cancel the deal, I wouldn't argue at all.

Do you respect your deadlines? How do you act when someone doesn't deliver what you ordered in time? Do you get angry like me or you don't care?

the only thing that really pisses me is people being late and not respect deadlines
I stopped a very good sale last week that could earn me easy 600 because my client didnt get on time and i didnt sell him

Deadlines are important but lately I have not been able to keep mine. I just have not been managing my time well. Not to mention numerous financial/personal difficulties suddenly appearing.

The financial is more like medical lol.

I know I actually delayed on a project for you by a week if I'm not mistaken. I'm sorry about that again. If my girlfriend had the time I'd have done an additional video for free, to compensate for the wait. But I can't be 3 people, so that doesn't work out.

My thoughts on deadlines.

When I hire people to do things for me I generally expect them to finish no later than 5 days after a deadline.

I also believe in telling a person I need a project done in 2 weeks rather than telling them I really need it in 5 weeks. I protect myself from failure if possible. I also try to use this method with my services. Lately it hasn't worked.


I'm actually 2 weeks past due for a writing assignment. The main reason for that is I actually lost it because I chose to do it the old fashioned way, with pen and paper. So I have to re-write 500 messages about 8 different topics. I'm forcing myself to produce quality rather than quantity, so it's taking time.

Lesson learned is extend you agreed deadline time when you choose to do it with primitive tools....

Deadlines are important in the type of work that could be done within deadlines.

You are absolutely right that deadlines should be met by the service provider.

There are still some services like programming where deadlines cannot be met. Logical issues are the main thing that won't allow the programmer to finish it. Yet if he is working on it then it is all okay. But if he is just sleeping then it isn't okay.

In all my time online i think ive only had 3 - maybe 4 reliable freelancers that have finished on time with out making up some crap like "i feel ill" or "my family member was ill"

One guy kept me waiting 3 weeks lucky for him it wasn't a rush job in the end , he emailed me saying it was done just as i was writing to request another freelancer.
