.de started on a small-scale 5 November - 30 years ago and now is a part of a global Internet Infrastructure that is indispensable for a massive amount of users.
I remember a Press Release from a local Searchengine called web.de when they announced they indexed 1000 Websites. Denic the registry had in 1993 already 1000 Domains registered, hey it is not that long time ago.
